The old adage “time really does fly when you are having fun” springs front of mind when I reflect upon the fact that I have just clocked up six years as part of the Gouldson Legal team.The past 6 years has seen a lot of wonderful change and development in both my personal and professional life. On a personal level, I have been privileged enough to marry my beautiful long term partner and welcomed the most cherished gifts possible into the world in the form of our two amazing kidlets! Whilst on a professional level, without in any way wanting to come across as being one of those individuals to toot their own horn, I believe I have continued to grow into a very strong and client centric solicitor.
I attribute my continued growth as a solicitor in no small part to the very strong culture and collegiate environment I have been fortunate enough to be a part of here at Gouldson Legal.Whilst everyone in the firm is always super busy, the open door policy within the office and our team first approach means no one is ever too busy for a quick chat to brainstorm the best way forward for a particular client in their own unique circumstances. This combined with the totally client centric approach by the firm, whereby the sole objective is simply to achieve the very best result possible for each and every client when considering their individual circumstances and without there being any artificial “score board pressure” to settle claims to simply make a budget, means it an absolute pleasure to get out of bed each morning and head to work to advocate for my clients.
Over the last 6 years, I have had the privilege to act for countless Gouldson clients from all walks of life, who all share one thing in common, in that they have come to us doing it tough as a result of being injured due to no fault of their own. It was instilled into me from when I first began practising in this area of law that my role was not purely to advance a claim for my clients, but also to hold their hands the way I would if they were a family member and guide them throughout the process to ensure that I am alleviating the burden caused by the predicament they now find themselves in and ensure I am helping them see the light at the end of the tunnel. I would like to think this still underpins how I approach the management of my clients to this day.
Throughout my time with Gouldson, I have been involved in cases involving settlements from a few thousand dollars through to cases involving multimillion dollar settlements. Still to this day, I get a buzz from settling each and every claim, particularly in the knowledge that the outcome was the right one for that client in their circumstances and knowing that the settlement is helping them get them back on their feet as far as a monetary sum can adequately compensate for their injuries.
